Modern hypnotherapists use hypnosis for not only medical purposes, but also as an aid to the resolution of many problems of psychological origin.

What is hypnosis like?

The actual experience of being hypnotised is very difficult to describe, a state of neither asleep nor awake. All hypnotic states are characterised by a tremendously pleasant state of relaxation, an altered state of consciousness into which individuals allow themselves to enter so that the desired beneficial suggestions may be given to the unconscious mind. Thus, hypnosis is a natural, effective way of making contact with the inner (unconscious) self, which can be a source of many of our problems.

Conversely, it is also a vast reservoir of unrecognised potential and strength and knowledge, i.e. 'the forgotten assets' that can be used to bring about safe, therapeutic change.

Most hypnosis sessions do not require more than a light trance state to be effective. No drugs or tablets are used.
